Hey there, I’m Tristan, also known as K8ZIP on the radio waves.
No idea who might read this, but just in case I felt like I needed to give a little bit of an introduction.
As you may be able to tell based on the callsign based domain, or perhaps because the domain itself is .radio, I am an amateur radio operator. As of writing this I hold a Tech-level license within the US, of course I do plan on eventually getting my general.
I’ve been licensed for roughly two years now, and have found a ton of little pockets of information, interesting projects and have been able to pick up a bit of, relative, know-how on a bit of the seemingly magical subject that is electromagnetic radiation.
A somewhat known thing about a lot of HAM operators is that they are generally tinkerers, or in a more modern term I’ve seen used: hacker. As someone with a bit more of a technological background, as well as a bit of an obsessive curiosity to find out how things work, I have found the hobby quite rewarding.
Not sure when I will post next, but hopefully it will be relatively soon. Until then, thanks for reading!
